Here's what other sites are saying:

Balancing best-in-class features at a great price, the Scarpa Freedom randonee boots pair alpine performance with light weight and 27deg of cuff range for excellent tourability. Weighing in at only 4,000g (8 lbs. 13 oz.) per pair for a size mondo 27, the Freedom boots are remarkably light among the freeride boot category. Boots employ a patented Carbon Core Technology, which molds the polyurethane lower boot around a carbon fiber frame to stiffen the boot without adding cumbersome weight. Overlap closure with two upper cuff buckles and two lower cuff buckles, and a low-profile 101mm forefoot last contribute great power transfer. Intuition FR liners put resilient, lightweight and warm foam into a multidensity alpine-style liner that matches the power and tourability of the boot. Forward lean is 14deg, with plus or minus 4deg of adjustability. Vibram(R) injected rubber outsoles provide good grip when you're walking. Included interchangeable DIN soles are compatible with all alpine bindings and randonee bindings except Dynafit-style tech bindings. Optional Vibram Mountain Plus soles (sold separately) make the boots compatible with tech bindings. Scarpa Freedoom randonee boots include adjustable spoilers and oversize power straps.

The Scarpa Freedom Alpine Touring Boot is packed full of high-tech materials and constructs. It's got patented Carbon Core, Advanced Injection, patented Ride Power Block, and Axial Power Control technologies; it was toiled over by gram-counting geeks. All you have to know is that it all means a lighter, thinner, stronger, stiffer, torsionally rigid, and super-powerful downhill machine. The Overlap closure system delivers a gap-free fit for optimal energy transfer, which also translates to power. No doubt about it, this freeride boot is light as a feather and friction-free on the hike and a beast on the descent. Do you really need to know that it was over-molded a carbon fiber frame to achieve this' Well, now you do. An anatomic 101-millimeter last gives your foot some wiggle room, nice for the climb, and features Axial Power for lateral stiffness and control. The instant-fit FR liner boot is molded to the shell and shaped to the last for seamless fit and performance. This precise fit adds to the warmth this liner provides, which you'll notice on those scenery-loving breaks on the summit. The Ride Power Block allows a 27-degree range of motion on the hike and locks down securely for a fearless downhill. Vibram's Mountain Piste sole fits all alpine bindings and is interchangeable with an AT-compatible sole (optional). The Freedom and Freedom SL make up Scarpa's hard-charging freeride line.
