The Moken 6 has been discontinued and now I know why.

Rating: rated 0.5 of 5 stars
Price Paid: $550

The Moken 6 has been discontinued and now I know why. Although construction is obviously great...it's a Sierra Designs, the design is hugely flawed.

The vestibule is huge. However if you were using this in black fly or mosquito season or if you were anywhere camping and spiders and snakes were an issue you would not want to leave anything out in the vestibule and the two side rooms are barely big enough for two people and all your gear.

We purchased this not realizing the vestibule was not actually a true room, with zippers to enclose the whole deal and are now sorely disappointed.

You don't have to be a sea gypsy to appreciate the versatility the Moken offers—choose a 1, 2 or 3-room floor plan. A fixed main room offers great gear/relaxing space when the A-frame end rooms are set up to accommodate sleeping. Main room offers a roomy 53.5 sq. ft. of space, with each end room adding 48 sq. ft.; a lofty 6ft. 6in. crown height offers room to stand. A-frame end rooms can be removed separately depending on your needs. Quick-pitch, external-pole setup: poles attach to the outside of the tent's rainfly; end rooms connect to the inside of the fly with easy-to-use clips. DAC® PressFit pole/hub system builds a stable structure and adds to ease of setup. Rooms can be left attached to the rainfly when the tent is broken down for packing, resulting in a quick and easy setup next time. Large doors on each side of tent can be fully opened or set up awning style with your own poles. Stash Doors™ can be opened from the side or bottom and stashed out of the way in internal pockets. 6 upper vents (2 on each end and 2 in the center) offer cross ventilation. Rainfly ends can be rolled up from the ground and secured in a slightly open position for additional ventilation. Welded rainfly windows are tougher and more waterproof than sewn-and-sealed versions. Common area floor/footprint is included; end room footprints are sold separately. A multitude of gear pockets keep gear organized and off the floor. Color-coded webbing makes pitching this tent easier than making your bed! Reflective guyout loops enhance night visibility; reflective noiseless zipper pulls are easily seen in the dark and eliminate annoying jingling sounds when the wind blows. Tent Guard with Ultra-Fresh™ treatment thwarts the growth of odor-causing mold, fungus and mildew, greatly extending your enjoyment and the tent's usable life.
