This tent does everything!!! You can strip it down…
Rating: ![]()
Design: 4 season
Sleeps: 2
Ease of Setup: standard 4 pole expedition tent
Weight: 7-9 pounds
Price Paid: $559
This tent does everything!!! You can strip it down by zipping off the large vestibule and leaving the pole for it behind. That drops off 1.5 lbs, but with the other vestibule there is still plenty of room for two big packs and boots, sorry no room left to cook.
You can also remove other pole segments if wind will be mild to moderate with little snow. Leaving those behind loses another .5-.75 lbs - down to 7 lbs. Or you can do a combination of those to match conditions with the weight you want to carry. Put it all together, and the thing is a bomb shelter at about 9lbs, not bad, that will stand up to ANYTHING! Also, the tent has two zip-open panels that allows for good ventilation. All in all this is the only tent on the market that does it all, but it sure is tough on the wallet.
