Eureka! Women's Casper 15

rated 2 of 5 stars If you're a tallish or largish woman like me (5'8", size XL), you probably won't fit inside. I bought this for backpacking, as it is fairly small and light, but it didn't work for me. I couldn't fit in this bag. Granted, I'm 5'8", so at the upper limit of their height range, but sticking out the end wasn't the only problem. I wear a women's XL, so I'm definitely bigger, but still within straight clothing sizes...but I couldn't zip it up with my arms inside. I was cold as expected, but it was way… Full review

REI Thaw Corporation 0°F Sleeping Bag

rated 3 of 5 stars Older heavy but very warm bag. Well constructed, but has no collar. The baffle is upside down for some reason! This is an enigma bag to me. It says right on the label, "Down Insulated", however when you feel the bag, there is some sort of synthetic fiber inside. It must be mixed with down? The bag is very warm and worked great for throwing over another light bag in sub zero weather. By today's standards, the bag is way too heavy and big. It packs down to about 20 x 14". Weighs over 5lb. It has no… Full review

REI Nooksack UL +10

rated 3.5 of 5 stars For a 10°F synthetic bag, it packs down very well (8.5 x 11), it's comfortable, and zips well. From my experience it's not a 10°F bag. I was cold in this bag at 40°F with thermals on. This is one of the most inaccurate bag ratings I've tested out of dozens. If the bag read 35°F I would consider this a great bag. Everything about the bag is positive but I would feel terrible if someone actually depended on this bag in 20-30's°.  If you buy this bag as a summer bag, I think you will be very… Full review

REI Shasta +15

rated 2 of 5 stars Though the bag is made of quality materials, it does not pack down well and lets out heat around the collar. The bag is a decent car camping summer bag but does not do well in cooler weather. I tested it last night (low 36°F). Since the bag had a 15° rating, I figured comfort rating would be somewhere around 30°. I cinched the hood and collar until there was only a 4" diameter circle. There's not really a collar to cinch. The draft tube extends from the side of the bag in one continuous run that… Full review

Mountain Hardwear Men's Lamina 20°

rated 4 of 5 stars Is my go-to bag for a couple of seasons now for some good reasons... but the ZIPPER! I have a love/hate relationship with this bag. It has been my favorite synthetic bag I've owned. It presses down to 8 x 10. It's super silky comfortable. It has a great shape. The collar holds heat well. the compression sack is a really nice 3 strap/1clip design so you can unclip one strap and pull the lid back. The bag has a small pocket.  The zipper sticks HORRIBLY! Every 3-5 inches it sticks if you are trying… Full review

REI Downtime +10

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Great feather bag. For the price it packs down small, weighs little, and is really comfortable. Great overall bag. Though some of the hardwear (zipper snap and grommet for the drawstring) popped out, the bag itself is great. I re-sewed the grommet back on and sewed in my own velcro tab over the old button that keeps the zipper in place once zipped and have no problems. The bag performs well in cooler temps. I slept very comfortably in the mid 20's in this bag. The collar hugs well, sealing in your… Full review

Kelty Cosmic Down 4°

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Son is in an Active Boy Scout Troop that camps 11 months of the year. I hate the cold and had relied on two 30 degree sleeping bags, all my clothes and a blanket until I found this Kelty Cosmic on sale. Warm and toasty even at 0° now. Son is in an Active Boy Scout Troop that camps 11 months of the year. Big Agnes Crosho SL

rated 5 of 5 stars Warm, cozy, light, compact. Performs very well. I'm used to using two bags in Minnesota during the cold season since it often reaches -20° F  here in the winter. Packing in two bags, two pads, and other gear gets heavy and bulky. I fill up my 95L pack. If I hike in a long ways, I normally pull my bag in on a sled. At a compact 4lbs 1oz (long), I can finally pack in on my back.   The bag repels water well. (I washed it after I bought it online. I hand kneaded water into it and it took forever… Full review

Feathered Friends Osprey UL 30

rated 5 of 5 stars I highly recommend the FF Osprey for three-season use. This bag weighs less than 2 lbs for the long version, and I have been completely comfortable down to its 30 degree rating. It feels like a cloud of warm air around you with good loft, and packs down to a 12 by 7 inch stuff sack. I finally invested in a new sleeping bag last year to supplement my Marmot Sawtooth 15 degree bag. Being in the South, I wanted a fall and spring bag with less weight. I decided to look at 30 degree bags as I still tend… Full review
