Big Agnes Lost Ranger 15°

rated 4 of 5 stars Plan to take it on the AT in the spring. For use in spring and fall. I DO recommend this product. I'm 6'2" and 215# and purchased the Long bag. I have slept in the bag just below freezing. Stayed toasty and warm wearing long underwear. It's packable and easy to get in and out of. I move around a lot...no problem. Love the Air Pad in the bottom sleeve as it keeps me and the bag on the pad and off the ground.   Full review

Sea to Summit Comfort Plus Insulated Mat

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The Comfort Plus Insulated mat carries a thoughtful, durable design that focuses on delivering the plushest night's sleep. If you're not focused on ultralight backpacking and looking for the most comfortable, three-season sleeping mat, this is the perfect choice. Ease of Use: Most inflatable sleeping mats are not difficult to use, but this sleeping mat contains inflation valves that are highly intuitive. It doesn't take much time to fill, and the nifty deflation valves release all the air in a second… Full review

Therm-a-Rest BaseCamp

rated 5 of 5 stars Great sleeping pad for all weather. I'm 6'3" and it's long enough to keep my feet off the ground and warm in cold weather. I've used these for years. They hold up well and have not let me down.  They are a little bulky but worth it for the sleeping comfort factor. Full review

Wiggy's Super Light FTRSS

rated 5 of 5 stars -4 degrees and as comfortable as could be. When you are outside in the cold and you know that everything is going to be OK, that's how I would describe this bag! This is the kind of bag you just can't wait to get into. Very warm (after about 15 seconds, then it warms right up). At -4 degrees it does everything I expect it to do. I'm a warm sleeper and most of the time it's unzipped. Packs great and puffs right up when you are ready to sleep. The bag is perfect for what I do, very durable heavy… Full review

enLIGHTened Equipment Revelation

rated 1.5 of 5 stars Bad customer service and policy. I hiked the PCT 2017. I had this 0-degree bag and I was freezing at night and I did strap it correctly. I came to the conclusion that the seller I called sold me a quilt too small for me. So I called them back after three weeks on trail. They told me their policy is only 40 days and I passed it (compared to a year for all other major sleeping bag companies). They didn't want to help me at all and preferred to let me freeze than exchange it for a bigger one or give… Full review

REI AirRail 1.5 Self-Inflating Pad

rated 5 of 5 stars We've owned these for about five years now and would do it all over again. With just a few puffs of air, my REI AirRail 1.5 Self-Inflating Pads (tall version to accommodate the 6'4" husband) have been a dream to use when canoeing/portaging in the BWCA, hiking/backpacking, or even in our hunting cabin in WI in November. These have an insulation factor of R4, so they keep us quite toasty. They self-inflate about 90% before needing a little help to fill the air rails. Love the air rails, they keep… Full review

Teton Sports Tracker +5°F

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Nice for the price. Not a 5-degree bag. Long is not long. Long is not long. At 5' 8" and chubby, I fit snugly. I can't see anyone over 6 feet fitting in the LONG bag. Zipper sticks at the top when closing; opening was easy. Used several times in the low 20s and started feeling chilly. Not a 5-degree bag; I don't think it would be good below 20 degrees without a liner or extra clothes. Drawstring on the hood worked well; felt no air leaks along zipper. Pocket inside by chest is too small for glasses… Full review

Outdoor Vitals Summit 0

rated 5 of 5 stars Backpacking in the winter can be discouraging if you don't have the proper sleeping bag. OutdoorVital's Summit 0° sleeping bag will keep you toasty with its down insulated properties, baffle design, hood, and overall comfort. In addition this sleeping bag packs down, weighs under 3 lbs, and most importantly, it's not overpriced! This sleeping bag has kept me warm on several nights in the teens. I haven't experienced any cold spots including around the zipper or hood. The fit is amazing. If you… Full review

U.S. Military Modular Sleep System MSS

rated 5 of 5 stars It comes in three to four parts, where you can sleep in one part, two parts, three parts or four. I have slept in it all together and I had to open it up sometime during the night because I had gotten too warm. Come to find out it had gotten below freezing that night. I have also slept in just one part, the temp was at around 100° to 110° that night. Although it was hot, I was comfortable. Compresses down to about the size of a basketball, although it could probably compress smaller. Three to… Full review
