ALPS Mountaineering Microfiber Mummy Liner

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This is a great liner at a much better price point than most. A must to protect and keep your bag clean. Perfect for summer trips, not much help for extra warmth. First things first, I bought this based on a Killer Review on Trailspace. It was super helpful, and there’s no way I could do better, and I agree with all of his points, so definitely check his review out: http://www.trailspace.com/gear/alps-mountaineering/microfiber-mummy-liner/?review=34340   My additional thoughts: Entry & Exit:… Full review

Therm-a-Rest NeoAir Camper SV

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The NeoAir Camper SV (speed valve) is a great mattress for everything short of alpinism. No more pumping or seeing stars trying to manually inflate that pesky sleeping pad. I have sworn off inflatable mattresses more times than Oprah has sworn off bread but, much in the same way, I keep coming back.  Since leaving my 30s last year (I still climb with a 23-year-old, so I think I’m still doing okay) I am just not as comfy with just a RidgeRest foam pad under me as I used to be. I need a little… Full review

Rab Men's Ascent 700

rated 4 of 5 stars Warm, lightweight, highly packable, roomy, designed to pair with a similar bag, wide temperature range. This sleeping bag is a desired addition to a backpacker's load list for at least 1.5 out of 3 seasons. No need to compromise temperature and sleeping comfort for weight any more. When choosing a sleeping bag for backpacking it's a hard battle between warmth, weight, and price. Ideally a sleeping bag is very warm, exceptionally lightweight and packable, and costs almost nothing. But this will never… Full review

UnderGround Quilts Zeppelin 20°F

rated 5 of 5 stars The 66 inch "7/8 length" 20-degree under quilt is a weight and space savings option for the not-too-tall hammock camper. At 5'8" I find that I get almost full length coverage. http://www.undergroundquilts.com/uq/default.html Suffice to say, I'm a big fan of Underground Quilts Outdoor Equipment! Over the past 4 or 5 years I've bought five tarps, three under quilts, and one top quilt from them. That's enough to have a good grasp of the company and the people behind it, their product lines, their quality… Full review

Campmor 20 Degree Down

rated 4 of 5 stars I have owned two of these bags. The first one I used on an AT thru hike on nights as cool as the teens. The following year I used it 10 nights on the Colorado Trail again in the teens. By the second trip it was getting drafty, but I had about 150 nights in it and I was quite dirty. I think I washed it poorly and never got the loft to restore. I bought a second one and have about 20 nights on it with no issues. I will keep buying these if they make them. My first experience was on an AT thru hike. Full review

Mountain Laurel Designs Spirit Quilt 28°

rated 5 of 5 stars Comfortingly good My experience with camping quilts, before this Spirit 28 (XL), was solely with down. Am now a convert to ClimaShield Apex, except, perhaps, in summer: I have a PHDesigns down quilt which feels utterly weightless in cloying conditions. My s/h Spirit 28 has strips of eVent along both top and bottom of the quilt, so is a little heavier and rather quicker to compress than today's standard item; it compresses perhaps two-thirds as well as a down quilt of roughly the same original volume… Full review

Eurohike Backpacker Micro II

rated 5 of 5 stars Quality product. Genuinely 3-season in my opinion and with a good lining 4. Superb small pack size. I have used this all four seasons camping in every type of weather and not once have I been cold. Admittedly in winter I used a liner with it, but I utterly love it. Originally purchased for £60 it was worth every penny. I am 6 foot 2 and there's plenty of room in length and width. It dries pretty quickly when wet too. I love this bag so much I saw one on eBay and bought it as they are discontinued… Full review

Snugpak Insulated Jungle Travel Blanket

rated 5 of 5 stars Awesome alternative to a sleeping bag! Weighs nothing, compresses small. We started hammock camping this season and I am usually a hot sleeper anyway, so I have been looking for something not quite as heavy as my Cat's Meow bag and at the same time, something warm and taking up less space than the sleeping bag in my pack. I was reading reviews on the Sea to Summit liners on this site and someone mentioned this Jungle Blanket in their review. I purchased it on Amazon and was able to take it with… Full review

Woods Canada Arctic 5 Star

rated 5 of 5 stars The warmest sleeping bag on the market. I used this bag in Northern Saskatchewan while working in geology. The temperature was minus sixty degrees Fahrenheit. I was cool, but at that temperature, what do you expect? This is the best sleeping bag I have ever owned. The sleeping bag is bulky, but will endure a lot of punishment. The bag can open up fully and be used as a comforter if necessary. This bag will keep you warm at -40 degrees. Full review
