User Review: Sprayway TL Reaction Jacket (383)

Bought the Sprayway last week. I used it yesterday for walking in the near forest.

This jacket seems to have similar qualities (and defaults) as my old Berghaus 3-goretex-layers one: it is heavy (960 g), but really comfortable. Here you have big covered zippers, 2 way underarm zippers, 5 pockets (the small ones at the downside are made for guys like me who don't know what to do with their hands), a good hood. I don't like the new 2-finger cord fixations which are vertical to the cords: inside the pockets they seem difficult to operate. So maybe I will exchange them with the old ones from my Berghaus: these are much faster to operate.

Finally, I bought it because I wanted to have a jacket which is a bit warm by itself, means there is a thin fleece layer inside, which collects transpiration and will be warm when I'm extenuated by a long journey: there is nothing better then a good jacket to avoid shuddering while outdoors.

The Sprayway is near to a parka by its length, and it sizes big: I got a small one instead of medium as usual. Beautiful red colour near Mountain Equipment's red... what became important when the vendor told me, "there are no more differences in quality between gore-tex products, because all these products must be homologated by gore-tex", so only cut and colour and gadgets remain to make the difference. Anyone to know more about quality differences this year?

Finally, big compliments to Berghaus: I used my old Berghaus Jacket ten years (!!!), really often, from climbing and hiking to skiing and wearing it in the city. I only had to impregnate it more often the last 2 years, especially at the underarms.

I will review the Sprayway again in September -- hope it will stand my long trek.
