Aluminum Camp Stool

rated 5 of 5 stars The Stansport folding aluminum chair is a backpacking necessity. Also usable as a nightstand, table, pack-rest. $17, weighs 16oz. I've had one of these for 40 years. It's in the running for favorite gear ever. Back in the day they were steel, so they used to weigh more. These days they are one pound, give or take two grams. I use it as a pack rest most often. It helps to get a full pack on — and from knee height. Then, once your pack is on your body, just grab up the chair and hook it over the… Full review

Scout 2P

rated 2 of 5 stars Easy and fast to set up. Lightweight and bigger than a 1-person tent but not big enough for two adults. I would not recommend this tent for rainy nights. Full review

rated 4 of 5 stars Great tent that costs 1/8 the price of a major name-brand one that does the same thing. Outfitter 2-Burner Propane Stove

rated 2.5 of 5 stars Probably one of the best basecamp propane stoves now on the market with oversized stainless steel burners producing a full 25,000 btu's. Each burner has its own windscreen and the cooking grate easily supports the heaviest pots and pans. But it does not work well over 4,000 feet in elevation. And there is a lot of camping above that level, even in California. I was ready to replace my old Coleman propane camping stove with a more modern edition, one that had a Piezo ignition system.  I especially… Full review
