Stoic Luft Hoody Insulated Sweater

Light, warm, cozy insulating layer. Great price.

Pros

  • light
  • warm
  • good fit (for me)

Cons

  • loose stiching
  • hood adjustments loosen

Was looking for a Mountain Hardwear Hooded Compressor, but could not find a deal, tried one of these from Backcountry at a great price.

I am 5.10, 170 lbs, athletic build and the fit of the medium size was perfect. This has fairly long arms and some have found the cuffs a little tight, but works great for me.

I would prefer the Mountain Hardwear at the same $$, as the Stoic has a lot of loose threads and a quilted design that can snag easily, but the value was outstanding.

The hood is large but adjusts down well, the draw cords will hang out a lot when you cinch it down and they tend to loosen up requiring constant adjustment, but other than that it's very warm, fits well, and fits the purpose as a light insulator. (This is made of light fabric, so it should have a shell over it for hard use or heavy precip.)
