Esbit Titanium Stove

rated 5 of 5 stars The lightest stove option out there, and it's cheap! At less than a half ounce, this stove is a wonder. The 0.5 ounce fuel tabs easily boil 2 cups of water with burn time to spare. And since you don't have to worry about conserving fuel, you can light it and forget about it while you set up camp. We almost always have a fire, so I mainly use this as a backup for when it rains. It does produce an ashy residue on the bottom of my pot, but not unlike cooking over a fire. Some have voiced concerns that… Full review

Optimus 8R

rated 4 of 5 stars Bought mine in the '70s, ancient times now, backpacked all over the U.S. Fell down a steep ridge once, stove and extra fuel bottle took a few dents. Just started it and ran it after 25 years of not using it. Started right up, even had old fuel. Great stove, just a little heavy compared to an MSR system. No priming in colder weather, use some lighter paste or some petroleum jelly with a teaspoon of fuel in bottom of pan to get her rolling. I say her because she has never let me down even in frozen… Full review

Vargo Triad XE

rated 3 of 5 stars This stove works as advertised. It'll heat enough water for your meal and a hot drink. But there are issues. I've used this stove perhaps 40 times in the past year or so. And while it's not a bad stove, it's not a great one either. My biggest issue is filling and refilling the stove. The fuel "capsule" cap is removed from the stand and taken apart. Filled to approximately 1oz and the cap replaced. Every freaking time. Other alcohol stoves that have an open top are much easier to cook longer because… Full review

Kovea Spider

rated 5 of 5 stars A lightweight, packable, and dependable stove suitable for four-season use. If they play their cards right I think the South Korean-based Kovea will be rivaling the top stove manufacturers on the market today. (Video review below). As it currently stands, this stove is not available via the regular 'players' but both Amazon and CampSaver.com have stepped up to offer this dynamite, very well-priced, remote canister stove. Another site, Fatcatgear.com offers the Spider and has an aftermarket windscreen… Full review

REI Vacuum Clip Mug

rated 5 of 5 stars These mugs are awesome. This is the best mug on the planet. I got several of these mugs years ago at REI. They were so awesome I got more. I have lost a few over the years, and they have gotten beat up from use but they are still my favorite mugs. I had some credit at REI and went back to get some more since mine are so old and beat up and was distraught to discover that they discontinued them. What a shame. I have looked online and searched forever. I was thrilled to find them again and immediately… Full review

Trail Designs Sidewinder Ti-Tri

rated 5 of 5 stars After 30 years I have finally found a stove I can enjoy. I have been through Bluet canisters, various white gas and multifuel, Jetboil, Sierra zip stoves, and others but this one does the trick for me. Excellent with alcohol and wood burning modes. To be honest, I haven't even tried the esbit mode yet. If you just want a quick boil with no fuss consider the alcohol version only. I absolutely love the Sidewinder Ti Tri. I am not a fan of freeze dried meals for the most part, so usually simmer cook… Full review

MSR PocketRocket

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Never failed me, reliable, boils fast, small and convenient. I can always rely on MSR products. In fact I will not get any other brand stove. It has never failed me once or needed maintenance in the two years that I have used it. And let me tell you, I have used it everywhere in the Cascades of Washington! It performs miraculously, boils fast, loud, but that's OK. Can't be any easier to use, and it cools off fast, which is a real plus for meal in the morning when you want to get going. This thing… Full review

Light My Fire Outdoor Meal Kit

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Great set, complete, and easy to carry I love my Meal Kit. It has all I need and is easy to grab and go. The harness makes it easy to hang on my pack via the clip for easy and quick access. I really like that the cup has a "sip" lid so that I can wander around camp without worrying about spilling. Light My Fire Spork

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This is a great little tool. It is lightweight, but still strong. It is very handy because you don't need to carry three utensils, just one. Although it has one weakness, if you are trying to use the fork and the knife at the same time it is very hard to cut stuff. I like the colours. If you lose them they are very easy to find.
