TATO Gear Element Titanium Wood Stove

rated 4 of 5 stars What hiker doesn't enjoy a campfire? With the Element twig stove, a bit of your favorite fire starter, fire source and a handful of twigs you can cook your food and boil your water without carrying the fuel or stove. The Element folds flat, doubles as a windscreen for an alcohol stove to boot. At 5 oz. this twig stove is fine for backpacking and is versatile enough to bake and with the addition of a small cleaver titanium grill by Dutchware you can grill small in small quantities. If you love to… Full review

GSI Halulite Ketalist Cookset

rated 4 of 5 stars Bulletproof, might be a word that one would think of when using one of these, and if not for a couple of minor details great would be another. So if you really like the form factor and can get past the bulk you will most likely love this kettle and maybe even the bowl and cup. I know I do. Gotta say I love my kettle and enjoy a spot of tea in the insulated cup, and the size of the kettle makes it so I can enjoy my tea and hydrate my meal with a single boil of water. If I'm using the bowl for a breakfast… Full review

GSI Personal Java Press

rated 5 of 5 stars Perfect for two. Nice little unit to bring to the backcountry, we always take this along. My boyfriend will only drink a "real" cup of coffee, which this press does beautifully and I'm an exclusive tea drinker. So he makes and drinks his coffee from the press and I use the cup for my tea and everyone is happy in the mornings. Everything packs neatly into the press with room to stash your tea and extras inside. We've had this for about two years now with no problems, and it has seen a lot of use! Full review

Esbit Stove and Pot Stand

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This stove and pot stand work great with my esbit (trangia knockoff) stove. This thing packs up small and light...you could literally put this stand in your back pocket. I admit I haven't tried it with esbit tabs, but I believe it should work as well as my titanium esbit burner. I bought this Esbit tab stove to use with my Esbit alcohol burner. This application works fantastic. It can really crank out some heat. I am very happy with it. My only complaint is that you can't use the simmer ring with… Full review

Vargo Triad

rated 5 of 5 stars This stove does exactly what it is made to do. I have built a good quantity of soda stoves, but they all burned up over time. I have tried a bunch of homemade stoves that worked great, but they all burned up or got damaged over time.   I got tired of making stoves. I have had my eye on this model for years, but stayed away due to  reviews of bad build quality and poor performance. Over time, I picked up a Vargo Decagon and had great luck with it after a little practice. My only complaint was it… Full review

Sea to Summit Titanium Spork

rated 4 of 5 stars Ultralight, obviously, and nice long handle for stirring. Wish it had a slightly deeper bowl (easier to use with soup). This is obviously a pretty simple utensil, so there's not loads to say. Pack it somewhat carefully since it's probably not indestructible. As a spork it's obviously not ideal for either task, so if they made a long spoon with a deep bowl, and a smaller, longer-tined fork, I'd probably go with two separate utensils. Since the spoon though is still almost the same as this, it seems… Full review

Optimus 8r

rated 5 of 5 stars Been cooking since the '70s with no signs of stopping! Classic stove. What an epic stove. My dad handed this down to me and I may end up handing it down again. it shows no sign of stopping. The Swedes knew what they were doing! I made a windscreen by cutting up a big soda can and wedging it in. Only thing is it's a hefty little thing. Full review

MSR SuperFly

rated 3.5 of 5 stars Decent all round stove. The Superfly is a simple stove that works well for moderate use. Cooking on it is better than the Pocket or Micro Rockets from MSR as the burner is wider than average so it provides a much better simmer. It takes a couple minutes to boil 1.5L of water. The same burner makes it harder to fit well into pots.  Outside of that it is your average canister style stove. Fuel consumption is average, as is its weaknesses to the winds.  Overall not a bad buy. Simple and cooks well. Full review

Jetboil Flash Java Kit

rated 4 of 5 stars A great simple lightweight cooking system. The Jetboils are amazing stoves. All the pieces (stove, stand, fuel canister) fit inside the pot. This makes them compact and considering the pot is included in the system mostly lightweight. I love using this for alpine starts where quick and easy is very much appreciated.  Setting up the stove is easy. Just attach the canister and you are off to the races. It ignites with a built-in piezo ignitor. The large wire dials are easy to adjust with gloves on,… Full review
