Jetboil MicroMo Cooking System

rated 5 of 5 stars Excellent, lightweight, compact, easy to use stove system. Self contained when stored, quick setup and very quick boiling time. Great for camping, hiking, and backpacking. Jetboil has been my go-to stove away from base camp and my preferred method of boiling water during outdoor activities. The stove sets up quick, has a built-in igniter and is stable. I don't simmer much as I am mostly re-hydrating but the MicroMo has good simmer control when you need it. It will boil a cup of water in about a… Full review

MSR WhisperLite

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Solid stove! Keep it clean and maintained and it will keep you cooking forever! I’ve got this one in my emergency grab and go. Full review

Alocs Mini Alcohol Stove

rated 4 of 5 stars Easy and cheap. Simplicity of alcohol stoves. Enjoy the lack of technology and parts. I used many different stoves and think the alcohol stove is easy to use, cheap to buy, not a technical piece of equipment, lacks parts that wear out, and works, even in winter. I use an angel food cake mold as a wind screen (car camper nowadays). Just be careful with the invisible daytime flame and be aware it is heating, just not as fast as you would like. Full review

MSR WindBurner Duo Stove System

rated 4 of 5 stars While pricy and a bit more bulky and heavy than some stove systems, the WindBurner Duo System with remote canister is a stable, weather-resistant stove for fast, easy use, even in adverse conditions with options to expand one's cooking range with the addition of other modular pots and pans. Bushbuddy Ultra

rated 4 of 5 stars Bushbuddy gasifying stoves are handmade in Alaska. They are simple and effective. It's not the lightest or most efficient stove out there, but there is something special about using this kind of heritage equipment. I have many wood burning stoves, but for short walks and a brew on a calm evening I often reach for this one. It is suitable for 1-2 people looking for a cheap alternative to gas, meths, or hexamine tablets. Yes, there are lighter, cheaper and more efficient designs but this is so simple… Full review

Toaks Titanium Backpacking Wood Burning Stove (small)

rated 4 of 5 stars A brilliant and simple 'gasifying' wood burning stove that slots together quickly and stacks inside the Toaks Titanium pot for a simple, lightweight, and compact wood burning cook system. I have many wood burning stoves and this is one of my favourites. I can have it set up with a decent flame in seconds using birch bark or a recycled inner tube tyre  as tinder and a few twigs. It is much quicker than waiting for an alcohol stove to 'bloom' and, provided the wood is dry, fuel can be collected whilst… Full review

Primus Kamoto OpenFire Pit

rated 4 of 5 stars From the beach to the riverside camp, take your campfire with you wherever you might want one. This is a really good, compact and easily stowed fire pit. You can cook and grill on this fire which burns either wood or charcoal. Best for car camping or canoe trips where weight isn't an issue, especially good when campfire rings must be portable and leave no trace. As members of another website, we’ve been testing out these products in exchange for a review in various boondocking and beach locations… Full review

MSR XGK II Shaker

rated 4 of 5 stars Incredibly reliable stove for extreme conditions. I use my XGK II Shaker at least twice a month, but usually more. I use this as opposed to a gas canister stove because my friends and I usually hike in 2-6 person groups, and gas canisters tend to get cold and lose pressure when cooking for long periods of time. The stove is very easy to set up, and I can have it running in less than a minute. It's also very easy to prime. The flame control is somewhat lacking though. It's pretty much off or flames… Full review

Primus OmniFuel

rated 5 of 5 stars Great stove. Does what you need and more. This is a great stove. I have had no problems using either canister fuel or liquid fuel. It boils water quick, and is great for cooking other foods. I not only use mine on the trail, but I use it when we spend the day on the lake. I cook hot dogs and other foods for 10 people no problem. This stove is well worth the price and weight for its versatility. Full review
