Even at $95, you're going to have difficulty finding a comparable flashlight in terms of performance and quality.
The 15 lumen setting is just right for the campsite and the 200 lumen setting truly lights up the night and can easily serve for defense purposes, be they for human or animal. The temperature of the light is spot on.
While you will not find any flashlight made completely in America, Surefire does assemble and manufacture certain components in the US, which I like.
The only complaint I have is that 123a's are expensive, but this isn't Surefire's fault. If you're using the 15 lumen setting most of the time, which you will, the batteries will last a long time.
