I bought this tent a year ago for backpacking. when you divide it up it's fairly light, but I purchased a lighter tent for backpacking solo. This tent is a great buy. The mesh body offers great ventillation, the rainfly is stormproof. It rained on me, my wife and 7-month boy for three hours, and we were comfortable and dry thanx to the roomy floor plan. There are eight guylines that let this tent stand up to pretty much any windstorm you'd encounter on a three-season trip. In the winter the mesh roof allows heat to escape and without the right sleeping bag it could get chilly. overall this tent kicks ass!!
