I love this shoe. I have worn it in the winter on muddy and technical trails that included rock gardens and root forests. It performed great in all conditions. The Gore-tex outer kept my feet dry, but not overheated. I've worn it for races in the 35-50K range and it performed very well.
One minus would be the weight. This is not a featherlite shoe. That didn't bother me, but some runners need to have a light shoe, I'd rather have more protection and traction on the trail.
