The North Face Extreme Gear Riva Jacket

rated 5.0 of 5 stars

The Extreme Gear Riva Jacket has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best synthetic insulated jackets for 2024.

I just recently got through a big snow storm with this jacket and am quite impressed. It's a nice jacket that covers my butt well, and has lots of storage space. The hood fits well, but could do a better job of keeping the wind out of my face. It's warm with just a T-shirt down to about 35 fahrenheit, but a good sweatshirt or light fleece jacket are needed under that. All in all, a great ski jacket that will satisfy the needs of most for a resonable price (I got mine for 280).

Fabric: BC/70 Nylon with Ultrex
Fill: ThermaStat Vaporator
Price Paid: $280

It's a shame that this jacket has been discontinued, it really is better than the newest Extreme Gear model. It has an insane amount of pockets, more than you could possibly put to use. =)

If the weather is frigid then you can zip in a fleece, which will make it more suitable for cold weather. It is also however, very breathable and can be comfortably worn in the Spring Time.

Price Paid: $300
