The North Face Freefall

rated 4.0 of 5 stars

The Freefall has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best overnight packs for 2024.

This is a perfect pack for a weekend hike into the mountains. The internal frame helps keep the pack stiff and there is plenty of padding between you back and the pack. The shoulder and hip straps are very padded also so there is no discomfort from the pack shifting around while hiking. There is a lot of space for the smaller things (i.e. flashlight, camara, binocs, maps) in the outer pockets for easy access.

The only problem is that this pack is meant for rock climbing so I had to add some straps on the bottom to hold my tent, but other than that is is definitely worth the price! There are plenty of straps and loops on the outer shell for attaching items also.
