The North Face Geosphere Jacket
It is a wind jacket, that's for sure. I specifically tested it under rather strong winds, 40-50 mph. It stood up very well. The mesh lining is just cosmetic, has no performance related functionality, other than keeping the outer shell from sticking on to you if you sweat to much.
It's not a technical jacket, but if you put some more layering underneath, it can pretty much behave like one. Seams are not taped. Shell has a water repellent finish. The fabric did not get wet under the rain, but again it was not a downpour either. The left pocket is supposed to turn to become a storage bag for the jacket, but I could not figure out how. The hood is functional but not big enough for a helmet if you wanna wear under.
