It's a good pack for a day hike and nothing more.

Rating: rated 3.5 of 5 stars
Number of Pockets: 3
Height of Owner: 5'4''
Price Paid: about 100

It's a good pack for a day hike and nothing more. There is a hydration sleeve, but it is much too small for my 13 inch MacBook. So, I wouldn't recommend it for a school backpack if you have a laptop and want a special compartment for it/ have to carry a laptop plus any other textbook.

I bought this because it was shorter than most packs and fit my small torso so the size in that respect is nice.

Overall it's a pretty good pack, but if you want something roomy, I wouldn't recommend it.

Here's what other sites are saying:

The North Face Women's Ray 20 Backpack has a padded sleeve that'll fit either your water reservoir or a laptop. And, a rain cover lives in a zippered pocket of the Ray 20 Backpack, so if it starts drizzling on your day hike or commute to work, you won't have to worry about soggy snacks, damp layers, or a very sad laptop. The North Face placed the Ray 20 Backpack's curved shoulder straps closer together and added an adjustable sternum strap to fit a woman's torso, so your pack stays comfortable throughout the day.

If on-the-go, java-fueled, and faster-than-light describe you, you're ready for the Women's Ray 20 from The North Face where sleek design meets true functionality. Back pain won't slow you down with the molded EXOLITE back panel and dual-density airmesh shoulder harness and waist belt, nor will thirst if you use the padded hydration sleeve, unless you use it as laptop pouch - which it does equally well. But don't worry, you'll still have 2 mesh water bottle pockets to stow H2O in.
