Rating: rated 5 of 5 stars
Price Paid: $49.95

The first thing I thought of when I read the description was, "This is for me!" - I was not disappointed. The XTC is made to function as a base layer, but to grab and hold that most offending substance (B.O.) like a water filter as you work and sweat. I just got back from a 3-day trip to Baxter State Park that included hiking 3 consecutive days in rain, then cold, then snow and the shirt performed so well I was beside myself. Actually, other people were still beside me and that is what this shirt does so well. My friends are now going to have to find other excuses not to be around me - stench is no longer an option.

Bottom line: if you sweat and are tired of nasty smelling polypro, buy this gem!

Here's what other sites are saying:

Whew, the shuttle bus smells like one big armpit. It's not because of you, though. The reason you know that is because you're wearing The North Face XTC Midweight -Zip Pullover. And this base layer has a bit of carbonized bamboo that helps block odor. Underarm gussets help with mobility when you ski, backpack, and mountaineer.

Sweat-wicking performance and plenty of ventilation are the hallmarks of The North Face's XTC Midweight 1/4 Zip that can't be matched for comfort thanks to Carbon from Bamboo technology and specially textured fabrics. Unzip the 1/4 zip for more air while sweat is wicked from your skin nearly as soon as your pores produce it by moisture-seeking carbon fibers and midweight, gridded fabric that, by design, promotes breathability and evaporation.

- Mountain Gear refers to the men's version

The importance of a solid baselayer in cold conditions can never be overstated. For cold forays, the XTC Midweight Zip keeps your core dry and comfortable hour after cold hour. Made with Carbon from Bamboo technology, moisture and sweat wicks away from your skin, moving to the outer layer of the fabric where it quickly evaporates. Underarm gussets increase your range of motion, and a slight drop tail hem provides greater coverage while reaching upward or outward.
