This is THE bag to have. Two side pockets fit Nalgenes perfectly and do not fall out (they also zip close if needed/wanted). Holds a snowboard and/or skis and shovel (YES!). The main top loader has space for four Nerf footballs, five if you try hard. Fully compressable to barely squeeze one in. The fourth pouch has about two quarts worth of space. Also two internal mesh pockets.
The construction is completely bombproof. I purchased mine around five years ago when the company went by another name but the pack stayed the same. Never a single problem.
The closed cell foam pad that makes it feel so good on your back also slides out for a padded seat. Well padded removable shoulder straps remove all bounce when you really load it up. Perfect day pack to do anything. I've used it a few times over night for bivy style camping/hiking and it works great.
