photo: Vargo Titanium Ascent Tent Stake stake

Titanium tent stakes. Not good for high winds.

Pros

  • Titanium

Cons

  • Bend easily
  • Unstable in high wind
  • Cost

Purchased these tent stakes for my boyfriend for Christmas. I was excited to get them in Titanium. First use was great!

However, we set up the tents in the yard to air them out and it was slightly windy. These stakes not only didn't stay in the ground, but they bent and twisted as well.

Very disappointed in them and they were not cheap either.

These stakes bend easily.

Pros

  • Lightweight

Cons

  • Weak and flimsy

My girlfriend made last Christmas a titanium Christmas. One of the presents I received were Vargo Titanium Ascent tent stakes. I was delighted to find them in my stocking and I was amazed at how light they were.

Unfortunately my first experience using them was in moderately high winds for east Texas and my tent collapsed due to the stake bending. I easily straightened it out and continued using the stake for the remainder of my trip, but I have gone back to the aluminum stakes as supplied by the manufacturer.
