"The titanium Triad XE was designed with ease of use in mind.The stove burns either alcohol or fuel tabs.Alcohol is used by filling the center container and then placing a few drops between the inner and outer container.Light the outer drops of alcohol and the stove primes immediately or if alcohol is unavailable, remove the inner container for the perfect fuel tab stove.Characteristics of burning alcohol in the XE include intense heat during the priming stage and simmering heat once primed.Once primed the stove burns slow and uses very little alcohol which is great for simmering noodles but not so great for simply boiling water.The stove is truly dual-fuel and understanding which fuel to use"

"Burns denatured alcohol and fuel tabs (both sold separately). Designed for weight-conscious backpackers, the ultralight Vargo Triad XE stove burns hot at high altitudes and in very cold temperatures. Dual fuel capability burns fuel tabs in addition to alcohol, improving performance at altitudes over 11,000 ft. and in temperatures below 20 F. In more moderate conditions, denatured alcohol burns very efficiently and boils two liters of water in six minutes. "Right now I'm going with 2. 5 stars only because I haven't used the stove outdoors yet. I have boiled 2 cups of water, indoors at 66 F, in 5 minutes flat. One of the legs did not fold down as much as the other two but some careful bending took care of that."
