Bought these boots in March of '97 for a week long trip in the Gila Wilderness. They are basically a non-GTX newbrier. Nice comfy nubuck leather, good last, decent support. The stitching has worn out on the heel counter, but has been restitched. Not the most water tight, even when treated, but so nice I wear them every day to teach school in. Two friends also bought them at the same time, and neither have any complaints- except that they're not made anymore for when it's time for another pair. If you can find 'em buy 'em.
