Not overly thrilled. Will need to get a thicker liner…

Rating: rated 2 of 5 stars
Source: bought it new
Price Paid: $87

Not overly thrilled. Will need to get a thicker liner and/or outer cover to get this bag to the rating they claim. Still, I think it will be just fine for "fair weather" use.

  • Lightweight
  • SUPER soft and lots of closure options

  • Not as warm as rated
  • Wind blows right through it
  • Fabric not as dirt resistant as I would like

Took this bag snowcamping 2 nights and slept in a hut a 3rd night. I used a silk liner, wore long underwear and had some other warming trix. The air blew straight through! Had to use my emergency blanket on the outside for the snow camping.  In the hut: not grand either. Still felt it did not hold my body heat at all.

I've had other bags that I stretched for the 4th season with little effort. I think I will keep this only for fair weather camping and invest in a good cold weather bag. Got it on for a holiday present. Was so psyched — until I used it.  Oh well.

The women's Vaude Snow Cloud 800 32degF bag keeps you cozy wherever you hang your pack or pitch your tent. Women-specific bags are cut to match a woman's shape, and provide extra insulation and warmth in the hood and feet areas. Sensofiber synthetic insulation is a microfiber that reflects body heat for warmth and low heat loss; fine fiber structure quickly moves moisture out for superior comfort. Durable synthetic insulation also insulates when wet and dries quickly. Mummy shape reatins warmth well yet is roomy enough to ensure sleeping comfort. Contoured hood, thermal collar, roomy footbox and full-length draft tube keep heat in, cold out. Full-length, 2-way zipper with locking slider is backed by wide, antisnag binding tape. Pillow pocket inside keeps camp pillow (sold separately) in place; stuff clothing inside pocket if you don't have a pillow. Bottom of bag features a foot compartment, a fleece-lined insulation pocket specifically designed to provide your feet with additional warmth. Kidney area also features a soft microfleece lined zone that adds a touch of added comfort and warmth. Large internal zippered chest pocket keeps all your essentials-headlamp, watch, glasses-right at hand and easy to find even in the dark. Comes with a compression stuff sack that doubles as lightweight ruck sack; sack features a zippered top pocket and adjustable straps with side-release buckles. European Norm (EN) is an independent third-party temperature rating, allowing accurate comparisons across brands with other EN-rated bags.
