User Review: VauDe Space K2
Design: four season freestanding dome
Ease of Setup: fairly easy as long as you figure out which pole goes where
Weight: 4.6 kilos
Price Paid: $230
First of all, It's an amazing four-season tent, but not good for three people. I camped in it along with my brother-in-law for a mountaineering training camp up in a 2000 m peak with 60 to 70 km per hour strong winds all night long. Tent stood up fairly well, thanks to its strong three pole construction.
Temperature was 0 degrees Celsius outside while the inside temp was around 6 degrees. When one opens up the inner tent zipper, he/she can immediately feel the temperature difference. There was no condensation in the morning.
Pegs are miserably short and flimsy, they did not hold the tent on the ground covered with a 40-50 cm thick snow. They come off easily even with a slight breeze, we made up a temporary anchoring system; better to have those 12" strong military tent pegs. It's heavy though. The inner tent, outer one, poles and the peg bag can be separated and be carried by you and your partner, dividing the 4.6 kilo weight.
Overall, I am very pleased to have it and recommend it sincerely.
