I've had this tent for almost six years now. It's been through hell. I've been through some of the worse snow, rain, HAIL, and wind storms that only a very few can imagine. I've camped at 13,000+ feet and swear I was set up in jet stream. My girlfriend will not camp without sleeping in the Skyline. I guess the past storms convinced her of its reliability. The sad thing is I don't think they make this model any more.
I finally re-water proofed it this summer; not because it needed it but I felt it needed some TLC after all it's been through in the past five years. The Skyline has two fiberglass rods that hold up the awnings over the air vents. These were begginning to show some wear. I called up Walrus, explained my situtation and they asked me to send it to them and they would sew in bendable wires for free. And that they would look it over and repair anything that looked like it needed some attention, for free.
WOW, what a company. Did I do it? Nope.. I was afraid of it getting lost in the mail or damaged in the mail. Walrus did send me two more fiberglass rods at their expense. If this is how they design their tents and deal with their buyers then I will not buy any other brand. I think Walrus is the best and believe me I've tried quit afew tents in my lifetime.
