User Review: Wild Country Mountain
Rating: ![]()
Design: 4 Season expedition
Sleeps: 2
Ease of Setup: I can set this up alone, in the dark during a howling blizzard in under 5 min.
Weight: 8 or 9 lbs
Price Paid: $496
Two words: Portable bombshelter.
This is a true mountaineering tent void of the random, useless gadgets that adorn so many tents these days. The Mountain is pure functionality: 2 doors, 2 vestibules (I really wish one were hooped though), and 4 beefy poles. There is enough room for two people, period. If you have a long winter bag the foot section will touch the door and collect some condensation (the tent is 54"x90"). I've spent many sleepless nights waiting for dawn while the wind and snow whipped and practically buried the tent, but never has it let me down. The continuous sleeves make setting the tent up a breeze.
