GREAT PACK. I got mine off of ebay from a fabric outlet that got a bunch when Dana Design packed up and moved out of the country. This pack got an editors choice award from Backpacker magazine in '97. It is a top loader with a single long side access zipper, two aluminum stays that can be shaped to your back, an HDPE framesheet and a delrin hoop that transfers weight from the pack to the waistbelt.
This is simply the most comfortable pack midsize pack I have ever owned. Over the years I have owned a couple of Danas, a Lowe, a Gregory and a Mountainsmith. This one beats them all! (Well, it actually feels like a dana arclight, but for a lot less) It has the same frame as the Dana Arclight series, but with 2 stays. Using these stays it can be shaped to accomodate those of us with slighlty uneven backs. The side access zipper is great for getting at gear way down in the bag without digging through all kinds of stuff. it makes a great travel bag too.
Perhaps the best feature is the waist belt. I am big on comfort, and this belt delivers it. It has a horizontal seam and cups above and below those prominant hipbones perfectly. All in all this is the deal of a lifetime. If you can find one and don't need a bunch of extra pockets, straps and bungie cords then this is your pack. I can't believe that no one has submitted a review on this pack before now!
