birdnerd

I started out as a birder and the hiking part was a natural sequela.  I'm not particularly skilled or ambitious at either, but I like to get out in nature, forget about the rest of life for a while, and work up a sweat.  When I'm not studying or working with horses, I can be found meandering in the Coast Range, stalking marsh birds in the Central Valley, or watching the sun set over the Pacific Ocean.  My household is run by my cat and also includes a young Golden Retriever mix, who is my trail buddy in training.  I am currently starting again from scratch after major spinal surgery.
