Occupation: Regular Force Infantry Officer
I am a regular force Infantry Officer in the Canadian Army and have been since 2003. This job takes me all over the world and along the way I like to augment my issued equipment with some of my own purchased gear where I can. On my free time my wife and I enjoy camping on weekends. However, since our daughter, Lilyana, was born we have had to cut down on our adventurous expeditions and keep our camping to car camping. Before our daughter came along I use to go on many backcountry camping trips and canoe trips. I hiked the Bruce Trail and camped along the way up to Tobermory, Ontario. I have also canoed and have completed many backcountry camping trips in Algonquin Park. Just recently I completed a 50Km back country hiking trip on Gros Morne National Park's Long Range Traverse, a world renowned hiking trail. I completed this trip with the Army and I know there will be many more trips like this where I will be using all my own gear. On the Long Range Traverse I used all my own gear and I will be submitting reviews on what I used during this trip.
I am interested in testing any type of canoeing, camping, and hiking gear you might have that requires testing and reviews. I feel that I can give any of these products a proper test and ensure people out there are getting good truthful reviews on them.
