Hafford

I live in Florida and work as a nurse. I have hiked off and on since 1974. I have hiked mostly the east coast, NC, VA, WVA., but have done a bit of walking on the PCT around the Lost Coast of Ca. Very nice area. I also like to kayak. Mostly flatwater local kayaking in and around the Jacksonville area but also a couple of regular trips to the lakes of Fontana and Santeetla in western NC. Most hiking trips are at least 8 hours away from where I live but a few closer in places like Ocala and Cumberland Island have made for some very nice walks. I try to go ultra light as much as I can, using a tarp and a very light backpack and have recently found that  using a hammock keeps the weight down and gives me a good nights rest. I look forward to learning more from this site.
