In Australia Backpacking is called Bushwalking,I started this activity as a scout,let it go as a teenager and took it up again age approximately 30.I bushwalk at least once a week (day walks) and overnight a couple of times per year-sometimes with my sons or with a club I am a member of.As our boys are becoming older and therefore less dependant on us my aim is to do more walking in general but particularly overnight walking, I am also encouraging my wife to walk with me.
We are planning our first overnight walk so one of my main interests is to cut down on as much weight as I can.
