I recently started backpacking back in 2011. Since then, I have hiked quite a few trails around the Angeles National Forest, Los Padres National Forest, and San Bernardino National Forest. I would consider myself to be a lightweight backpacker bordering on Ultralight. I'm very detail oriented with regards to the gear I use and recommend...this tenacity has helped me greatly in lowering my overall pack weight.
Prior to backpacking, I enjoyed off-roading and vehicle dependent exploration. Since the rise of gas prices, I had to find another medium to allow me to enjoy the outdoors. I was introduced to backpacking by a buddy of mine who off-roads...I haven't stopped since.
