My favorite activity in life... whether it's actively hiking/camping or just plain hanging out in the wilderness is being outdoors and 'remembering' nature.  Right now inside the apartment where I live I can hear the landscapers working with their leaf blowers as well as the sound of automobile traffic.  This is poison to my ears.  I always want to run far far away where I will never hear these sounds.  Although I enjoy the solitude of being outdoors, I am at an age now where it makes sense to hike or camp with some company.  I have also dramatically altered the climate conditions as I don't enjoy the low temperatures as I once did.  40 degree temperatures is cold enough for me now.
