About
I am a septuagenarian with 43 years of regular weekly hiking, mountain climbing, backpacking, and back country skiing. I call it "mountain medicine." For the most part I cruise the Rockies, but in the spring mud season, and before the snow reaches back country ski depth, I hike the Boulder Mountain Park trails. I enjoy the strenuous activity, but am past the risk-taking thrills of my youth, focusing more on the aesthetic and philosophical aspects. My peers have either exited this world or the wilderness, so I sometimes go out with a 20 year-old kid I've mentored for 8 years, but more often solo. In my spare time I am a potter and therapist in private practice. Of course I also take photos and write. And do Tai Chi. And help with little grandson, Thomas. Go to dive bar punk shows with my son. And hang out with my wife (43 years). If anyone local is interested in hiking, well...let me know.
