Trailspace member photo contest opens in March

One of my favorite outdoor shots, which I'd enter if I was eligible.

Trailspace's members hike, climb, ski, backpack, and explore around the world and in their own big backyards. Many take amazing pictures of those adventures, which they share in trip reports, the forums, and albums in their profiles.

To highlight our members and their photographic talents (and because we thought it would be fun), we're having our first ever Trailspace photo contest, opening in March. Members will be able to submit a certain number of photos (probably capped at five) among any of three categories: landscape, wildlife, and outdoorsy people/people in nature.

Fellow members will get to vote on their favorites. Winners in each category will get prizes (hurray!).

We'll have more fine-print details on the contest in the next month, as soon we're ready to open it up to our members. In the meantime, don't forget your camera on your next hike or climb, choose your best shots, and get ready to vote.

Credit for the contest idea goes to Trouthunter for the idea and our many photographer members for the inspiration.

What as Editor in chief you are not eligible? Thats terrible, maybe later we can have one just for you....

I can't give myself a prize, but I don't mind, Gary. I'm excited to see what photos we get to see and learn more about all of our members from this contest. Besides, I know there are some serious photo contenders out there...yourself included!
