Outdoor Retailer: Kids Ride High with Osprey and Piggyback Rider

We're at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market this week, and there's so much new backcountry gear to cover we're previewing some that has already caught our eye, like these new kid carriers to haul your progeny into the backcountry and around town.

Kids Ride High

Osprey Poco Premium

Deuter may command 63 percent of the child carrier market, but it's about to have a few more contenders. Osprey is unveiling its series of Poco child carriers, the Poco, Poco Plus, and Poco Premium. The Pocos have a "quick and easy" torso adjustment, so parents can share the duty, a padded hipbelt that can be adjusted while being worn, and a hydration sleeve (often lacking in carriers).

The intriguing, award-winning Piggyback Rider will make its OR debut. The Piggyback Rider is a standing carrier with a bar that lets kids 2 1/2 years and up stand securely behind Mom or Dad while riding at eye level, plus a safety harness. It gets started where baby and toddler kid carriers leave off, without you having to give actual piggyback rides.

Here's a video review of the Piggyback Rider from busymommymedia:

We'll get and share full details, plus pictures and videos for closer looks, on these child carriers, many packs, and much more outdoor equipment and apparel at Outdoor Retailer, August 3-7, in Salt Lake City.
