Outdoor Retailer: Really Cool "Ultralight Backpackin’ Tips" by Mike Clelland

We're at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market this week, and there's so much new backcountry gear to cover we're previewing some that has already caught our eye.

Ultralight Backpackin’ Tips

It's been out a few months, but fans of Allen & Mike’s Really Cool Telemark Tips and Allen & Mike's Really Cool Backcountry Ski Book will appreciate Ultralight Backpackin’ Tips by author-illustrator Mike Clelland from Falcon Guides.

Clelland (the Mike half of "Allen & Mike") offers techniques on how to lighten your load without sacrificing the essentials of your safety yet staying well fed and comfortable.

The book features 153 tips and advice, ultralight recipes and rationing ideas, and, of course, 100 informative and amusing illustrations.

If you're waiting for your copy to arrive, or can't make it to the library, you can get started reading Tralspace's own "Guide to Lightweight Backpacking."

We'll get and share full details, plus pictures and videos for closer looks, on much more outdoor equipment and apparel at Outdoor Retailer, August 3-7, in Salt Lake City.

I have this book and it is excellent.  Highly recommended for the lightweight hiker trying to get ultra lightweight.  There IS a difference and it is in the smaller details.
