Last Week: Review Your Gear to Win Big Agnes Pad

Next week we're giving away an Insulated Air Core sleeping pad and a Pumphouse dry sack/pad pump to one lucky reviewer, thanks to Big Agnes. Review your outdoor gear by Sunday, July 7, and you're entered to win this new sleeping setup for your backcountry adventures ($150 total value).

Weighing in between 15-31 ounces (depending on model) the three-season inflatable Insulated Air Core sleeping pad is rated down to 15°F. It's stuffed with PrimaLoft Synergy synthetic insulation and available in a wide selection of lengths and shapes (mummy and rectangular) to fit backcountry adventurers of all heights, including kids ($80-130 value, depending on size).

The accompanying Pumphouse is a multipurpose dry sack/pad pump. Use it to inflate your sleeping pad, as a stuff sack, dry bag, pillow, water carrier, or even as an improvised backcountry shower ($20 value).

It's just so cushy and comfortable, we wondered how the three-season, Insulated Air Core sleeping pad (above right) compares to another sleeping surface of comparable comfort, a Victorian Four-Post Bed (above left).

Victorian Four-Post Bed

Big Agnes Insulated Air Core

  • Heavy!Carved from solid mahogany. They don't make beds like this any more.
  • Much lighter! Constructed from durable, lightweight 70D nylon diamond rip-stop.
  • Very large. Won't fit though most modern doors.
  • Very compact. Most sizes roll up into a cylinder no thicker than 3.25 inches.
  • Chilly! Requires plenty of blankets to provide any warmth.
  • Toasty! Rated to 15°F and packed with PrimaLoft Synergy synthetic insulation.
  • It's a long way down if you roll out!
  • Pad has larger outer chambers that keep you in the center of the pad and prevent you from rolling out.

To win the Big Agnes Insulated Air Core sleeping pad and Pumphouse stuff sack:

  • Review your gear now, through Sunday, July 7. Every review of your outdoor gear, apparel, or footwear you share counts as an entry, and helps other outdoor enthusiasts.*
  • Share your review on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, or other social media.

That's it! On Monday, July 8, we'll randomly draw one very lucky gear reviewer.

We'll also throw in a Trailspace Trail Runner Cap to wear on your outdoor travels.

Review your gear to win your own Insulated Air Core sleeping pad and Pumphouse stuff sack.

The Pumphouse is almost as exciting as the pad. I use mine all the time!
