Slope GTX

rated 4 of 5 stars Excellently made, good looking boot; perhaps better for people without wide feet! I ended up using these on a five-week trek across the rocky spine of Crete, despite having recently bought a pair of Salomon 4D2's. There were a couple of factors in choosing the Akus: They looked better. This was sort of important for me because I was going to be going in and out of social spaces, family friends' weddings, etc. My pair are a sort of pale sage nubuck with leather heel-pieces They seemed cooler in temp. Alpina Plus GTX

rated 5 of 5 stars Super comfortable, all leather, lightweight, day hikers. Leather lined too! I discussed this case with Aku directly, but they said it was out of warranty so nothing they could do, which I thought was very poor customer service. Allan Full review

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This model is discontinued, I can't find them anywhere. Very comfortable. I bought mine for $90 on Sierra Trading Post. I have crossed streams etc. After reading the negative reviews here, and had no waterproof issues. I never put anything on them either. Maybe Aku's manufacturing is inconsistent. I love the leather interior lining, because it doesn't pick up burrs or other organic splintery things like fabrics do. The regular price is a bit much. They are rather lightweight, comfortable. rated 4.5 of 5 stars These are gorgeous Italian lightweight hikers with top notch construction and materials. Fit is excellent on low-mid-volume foot (men's euro 44). The "teeth" of these lightweight hikers was surprising through a few miles of hardscrabble Wasatch bushwhacking. Super impressive. These are gorgeous Italian lightweight hikers with top notch construction and materials. My first use out of the box involved inadvertently going three miles off-trail speed hiking/running to catch a closing (summertime) lift… Full review
