Alpina Plus GTX

rated 0.5 of 5 stars Low quality and bad customer service. Beware the average quality of Aku. I had some boots which looked good and were performing okay, but suddenly the plastic/rubber midsole went all brittle and now they are unwearable. I discussed this case with Aku directly, but they said it was out of warranty so nothing they could do, which I thought was very poor customer service. Allan Full review

Zenith Leather

rated 4.5 of 5 stars This model is discontinued, I can't find them anywhere. Very comfortable. I bought mine for $90 on Sierra Trading Post. I have crossed streams etc. After reading the negative reviews here, and had no waterproof issues. I never put anything on them either. Maybe Aku's manufacturing is inconsistent. I love the leather interior lining, because it doesn't pick up burrs or other organic splintery things like fabrics do. The regular price is a bit much. They are rather lightweight, comfortable. Nef GTX

rated 4.5 of 5 stars These are gorgeous Italian lightweight hikers with top notch construction and materials. Fit is excellent on low-mid-volume foot (men's euro 44). rated 1 of 5 stars Never buy an AKU boot. I bought this boot in October 2014. I used it three times and one of the boots started to bend. Normally this should not have happened. I have contacted AKU Italy and after all corresponding emails, I was left with a faulty boot. Their local dealer refuses to exchange or inspect even. I have never thought I would experience this negative experience from a reputable company. It seems they are not that reputable.  The bending boot: The non-bending part: Full review

Bellamont Suede

rated 4 of 5 stars The shoes are solid, well made, and can handle a lot more than they are designed for. I used them to carry packs off-trail in scary steep terrain as well as around town. The shoe is very lightweight, but has a solid Vibram sole underneath, giving it the ability to multi-task. It could use more support for super heavy loads, but again, it is not designed for that. Buy this shoe if you want something lightweight to wear around that can handle those last minute trips to the trail. This shoe might… Full review
