Manufacturer's Description

The Octane LR features a new lumbar Antidote reservoir in a design demonstrating CamelBak’s understanding of how users carry their water. By placing water lower on your back, weight is stabilized on the hips, leaving the rest of the pack available for cargo and creating maximum stability for trail running, adventure racing and cycling.

The Octane LR features under-arm tube routing, giving users the option of routing the tube either under the arm or over the shoulder. Octane LR is made with extremely lightweight 70D mini ripstop and is reinforced with panels of 420D nylon.

Here's what other sites are saying:

The CamelBak Octane LR Hydration Pack has its 70 fl. oz. reservoir positioned over your lumbar region for greater comfort and stability while adventure racing, or on fast-paced trail runs or rides.

The Octane LR moves the 2 liter Antidote(TM) Lumbar Reservoir down around your waist for greater comfort and stability - integrated lumbar compression prevents your hydration from sloshing around. External fill makes replenishing your water supply quick and convenient. On the front you'll find dual overlapping pockets and a stretch mesh overflow for efficient gear organization. Stretch mesh pockets on the harness to keep nutrition, your smart phone or other essentials within easy reach when you're on the move. For safety, they've added a whistle on the harness and reflectivity on both front and back.

In order to perform at their best, runners absolutely must remain hydrated. The CamelBak Octane LR Hydration Backpack knows this game well. It also knows that the ideal placement for weigh during running is not over your shoulder but above your hips, allowing your torso freedom of movement. A low-profile two-liter Antidote Lumbar reservoir surrounds your hips evenly, providing up to two hours of hydrated running and dispersing weight over a wide area. At just over one pound, the Octane won't cause any significant drag during races or high-intensity trail running. Even the 330 cubic inch stash and organizer pockets are sleek enough to avoid being an obstacle, while still maintaining a small space for your phone, keys, music, or snacks. Lumbar compression and a fully adjustable ultra-light 3D mesh harness keep the Octane fit snugly against your body and free from the annoying bounce of most running packs. If nocturnal runs are your thing, then you'll appreciate the front and back reflective panels as well as the safety whistle already attached where you can easily reach it. Don't fear the rain: a DWR and PU-coated diamond box ripstop protects your stuff while keeping the pack from absorbing water that'll weigh you down. Season after season, CamelBak's super scientists have been hard at work refining and perfecting the Antidote reservoir, the industry's most popular solution to hydration. At the turn of a cap (a quarter turn to be exact), you can open or close the reservoir, refilling and securing it again in seconds. Center baffling and a sleek design prevent your water from jostling about inside your pack while running, hiking, or hitting the park. When not off exploring the world, simply disconnect the tube using the Quick Link System and hang up the Antidote for proper drying or storage. Since last year, CamelBak's go-to reservoir system has actually lost some weight, reducing bulk in the fill port and offering you that much more convenience.

For trail running or adventure races when you don't want water sloshing around on your back, the Camelbak Octane LR 70 oz Hydration Pack is the perfect choice. The lumbar hydration system holds the water around your lumbar region instead of on your back, therefore the water stays still so you can move freely and push yourself. This pack fits lightweight extra layers, energy bars, a headlamp, trail maps and a compass, so you'll be prepared and comfortable over the long haul.
