Coleman 5-in-1 Whistle

Well, all good things must come to an end. This is my first Average rating being given to one of my favorite manufacturers, Coleman. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. No wonder Coleman no longer is advertising this 5 in 1 Whistle on their website. Due to the bulky whistle, I do not advise using this for camping, but I do suggest using it for paddling. Having a water tight compartment for matches, and bearing a compass, signal mirror, flint, whistle, and lanyard this is the perfect… Full review

Vargo Titanium Emergency Whistle

Simple, effective, super lightweight and powerfully necessary, the Vargo Titanium Emergency Whistle is a tremendous asset and needs to be a supplement in every outdoor enthusiast's pocket. Simple, effective, super lightweight and powerfully necessary, the Vargo Titanium Emergency Whistle is a tremendous asset and needs to be a supplement in every outdoor enthusiast's pocket. Coghlan's Four Function Whistle

Not too bad of a small tool. I keep this lil deal clipped to a strap on my pack just for a quick glance to get my heading. I would never use it for my primary compass though. Most water floaters are not to be trusted.  The temp gauge isn't too bad, as long as you don't keep it in your pocket. It comes with a fairly loud lil rape whistle, lucky I haven't had to use it yet. LOL. Full review

REI Tri-Power Safety Whistle

Very loud whistle. Great loud whistle. It is orange so you will never lose it. However it is big, that might be a downside for some. My wife hates this thing because I am always testing it! Full review

NRS Storm Whistle

Loud! Woah, if you are lost in the woods and need someone to hear you, well this is the small piece of plastic for you. I mean, yeesh, even at a minimum amount of air will this thing amplify! Your ears won't be happy, but you will get rescued (probably).  Full review

Harmony Fox 40 Whistle

I bought this whistle as plastic version and in black. It is quite light and the design is ingenious and good quality. It does work even when wet. I blew as loud as I could and it was very piercing to the ears. I was so impressed that I bought one for my daughter for security when she walks to school. It comes with a metal round key chain attachment and a round key chain. I bought a small bungy chord type rope and fixed the entire thing to the front of my backpack. Full review

NRS Storm Whistle

Super bright orange whistle. I had to plug my ears when I blew it full blast. Full review

Ozark Trail Silbato 4 in 1 Whistle

While the name Ozark Trail implies a cheap product, I tend to purchase my small items and/ or easily replaceable items with American Recreation Products - which manufacture products for both Ozark Trail and Wenzel. Hence, I can replace these more frequently with minimal investment. The 4 in 1 whistle really does work. It has a plastic magnifying glass (it's ok), the whistle (loud enough), ambient temperature gauge (comes within a degree or two accuracy), and compass (works good). The whistle can… Full review
