Rating: rated 4 of 5 stars
Fabric: Merino Wool

It's a HAT so this is a SHORT review.

These are really good hats for one reason. Their weight is perfect for using in combination with a hood system. I use a stretchy fleece with a hood for a first layer, and various shell hoods if I need them or a belay jacket hood for an outer layer. Trying to do this with heavier hats doesn't work as well, so this is a good hat if you like to manage temperature with headwear. Nice fleece liner band inside the hat also. And, the weight is very good for using under a climbing helmet.

WHY a 4 not a 5? Remember, it's a HAT! Well, the colors are dull, dull, dull. You can either get charcoal or military brown. Boring. The women's hats have a little better color selection, but not much. Of course, when you put your hood up or put the hat under a helmet, you can't see it anyway.

Manufacturer's Description

This is your hat for days when the wind’s ripping and the sun’s nowhere to be found. The outer layer of warm merino wool and the soft fleece lining keep your ears toasty and your gray matter functioning at body temperature—even if your tent’s “room temperature” is far below that. Sleek beanie design fits easily under a helmet. Hand wash.

Body: 100% New Zealand Merino Wool
Inside Facing: Polyester Fleece
