I have used this pack many years and it has treated me fairly well. It does well with heavy loads even with a skimpy hip belt, but personally, I like a thinner hip belt. The top-loading design is good with a large top pocket.

My complaints about the pack are the mesh "water bottle" pockets on the side. They don't hold a Nalgene very well. Also, after many years, the fabric covering the foam waistbelt has worn away (much quicker than I would expect) leaving the bare foam exposed. Maybe if they used a more burly Cordura covering...

It's a nice pack for some alpine climbing or a short 1-2 day trip though.
