EMS Down Under 25

rated 4 of 5 stars

The Down Under 25 has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best 3-season down sleeping bags for 2024.

I have had this sleeping bag for about 3 years now and it has served many purposes but saying it's a 0-32 degree bag is a stretch. Wearing thick pants and a thermal shirt over a thick cotton T it was pushing it to camp out in 30 degree weather last weekend. Short of wearing full thermal clothing, I wouldn't try and go below freezing with this bag (I suppose that's why they put a low temperature rating and yet admit it's only a three season bag).

That aside, between 32 and 50 degrees, this is a very high quality bag for the money. Very comfortable! Like they say, the slant baffle insulation design really does eliminate cold spots! It is an even temperature throughout every inch of the bag. The face cinch seems like it could be easier to use... if you wake up with a cold face and need to cinch it up... it's not a cinch! (pun intended)

Overall, this is a fantastic bargain bag as long as you don't try to push the temp limits they claim it's suited for!
