GREAT PACK!!!!! Collapses into a day pack, but boy can it eat up gear! With its stovepipe design and klettersack top, you can really pack it full.

Plus, there are two mesh pockets for water bottles, and a working hip strap + chest strap. Plus, you get webbing on the top of the pack to stuff a small item of clothing (such as a windbreaker). Also, there's a stuff-it pocket on the outside: perfect for a snow shovel, full-size jacket, etc. [2 ice-ax loops too]

The bottom line is: This pack can transform from a light little daypack into a gear-swallowing monster!! I just adore this pack for its versatility, price, and ability to handle a diverse load.

I can fill it with schoolbooks, groceries, and layers of clothing: all in one bike trip home. Or I can ski with extra gear for myself and my wife. More parsimonious packers could use this as an overnighter, if they skip the tent (or someone else carries it) and compress their sleeping bag.

Padded back; comfy; sturdy; well-designed.

Hooray!!
