My favorite small folding knife for hiking. It's simple, it works, it's practically indestructible.
Blade is under three inches long, made of VG-10 stainless steel, which is very hard and stays sharp for a long time. it takes a little longer to sharpen due to the hardness of the steel used for the blade. the handle is two pieces of stainless steel with narrow micarta scales attached by screws. Micarta is hard and basically impossible to break.
i love that the back of the knife is open - it's tremendously easy to clean. it opens and closes smoothly, and it locks with a liner lock that is super-stable for a knife this small. It's extremely easy to maintain because everything is screwed down with torx screws - i have taken it apart a number of times to clean grit out of the pivot or the handle.
The knife lacks a hold in the handle for webbing or a clip. however, the knife comes with a nylon sheath that attaches to a pack or belt and closes with velcro.
i would give it a "5" if i could find one with scales that aren't quite as smooth. because the shape of the handle is contoured and fits my hand so well, i have not had any problems with it slipping, but it would be helpful to see an option with a handle that has more texture.
