Summary
Not to be limited to overhanging and steep climbing.
Pros
- Edging
- Smearing
Cons
- Toe covering
Great shoe, fits my wider sized toe box well. It definitely has a more aggresive fit and downturn than the Anasazi VCS's, but to say this shoe is primarily for overhanging and steep routes would be selling them short, although they do excel on these types. They edge and smear very well, lending themselves to sport climbing and multipitch as well as bouldering.
I have a medium sized heel, and the fit is just right, no slipping. I have heard some people mention that their achilles was rubbed raw the first few times with this shoe, however I didn't experience this.
I do wish that there was more rubber on the toe for toe hooking, but other than that I'm very happy with these shoes and would buy them again.
