Galibier Vercors

rated 5.0 of 5 stars

Worked in an outdoor sports shop (Sun Cycle, Ashland, Oregon) in 1974 and bought a pair of Vercours for $57. Had a pair of Super Guides also. As a geologist, backpacker and climber I have owned more than a few pairs of boots. NOTHING surpassed Galibier products.

They are COMFORTABLE out of the box, DURABLE, and HIGH PERFORMANCE!

Pros

  • Fit
  • Construction
  • Performance

Cons

  • A little heavy

Shell out the money and never buy another pair of boots in your life!

Source: bought it new

The Galibier boots are built to last. I have used the Vercors (1 step below the Super Guide) and they have been great ankle savers.

We do the East Face every fall, and the descent of the Mountaineers Route is tough on footwear. Great approach and descent boots.

Resoled with Wilson's Eastside Sports, Bishop. They did a great job. JH

Materials: Full leather uppers
