Rating: rated 5 of 5 stars
Source: I got it as a warranty replacement.

Summary

The flick is all that you expect from Gerber in every fashion. I've waited to own and use it several months before doing a review. It got it after my original Gerber multi tool broke after 30 years of service: metal fatigue I guess. It is not as hefty as the original. It does the trick in every category if you remember this.

Pros

  • It is fast out of the pouch and easy to use.
  • It has a good assortment of tools.

Cons

  • The tool is NOT as solid as the original which was a
  • real pair of pliers and real screwdrivers. This is a lighter duty version. Very good for what it is.

I broke my original Gerber mutli tool in January and replaced it with a Flik. While it is a lighter duty version, it has several very good improvements.

The locks for the tools are positive, preventing any accidental closing on your hands or fingers. It is configured so that if opened properly you cannot pinch your hand (palm) in between the handles when using it as pliers. It has pictures of the tools at their location, hard to see in low light, but very nice during day light. A scissors has been added, much bigger and heftier than the Swiss Army, mini type.

The only loss besides mass is that of the ruler that the original had. Can't have everything I guess.
