Patagonia Long-Sleeved Fezzman Shirt

rated 5 of 5 stars The best work/hike button-down shirt that I've owned, hands down. Out of the countless button-down shirts I've owned, I've never been more happy than with the Patagonia Fezzman. I'm actually wearing the first one I bought as I type this review, and although a nice button-down shirt might not be the most "outdoorsy" of pieces of gear, I think this versatile shirt deserves a review. What amazes me the most is that I bought my first Fezzman probably in 2009, and after seven years of wearing for work,… Full review

Toad&Co Debug UPF Stretch Shirt

rated 4.5 of 5 stars My current favorite outdoor activity shirt. This moisture–wicking, quick–dry, woven comfort stretch shirt offers style and functionality. It offers 30+ UPF rating and is wash–and–wear easy. Have worn it in the high Sierras and washed it out each day and then wore it again the next day. Love its compatibility with backpacking. The men's Debug UPF Stretch Shirt offers exceptional comfort for walking around after your outdoor activities as well as during strenuous hiking or trekking. Stylish… Full review

ExOfficio Mundi Check Shirt

rated 4 of 5 stars This a great lightweight shirt that can be used on the trail or in a city. I like the breathability of the fabric and the fact that it is practically wrinkle free. As with most ExOfficio clothes, the Mundi plaid short sleeve shirt can be used while hiking, backpacking, traveling, or simply hanging out. I found its lightweight breathable fabric to work quite well during hikes with temperatures up to the mid 80s Fahrenheit. The cotton/polyester blended fabric has a nice skin feel and the polyester… Full review

ExOfficio Sol Cool Cryogen Plaid Long-Sleeve Shirt

rated 3.5 of 5 stars The ExOfficio Sol Cool Cryogen shirt has proven to be a good hiking/travel shirt. The Sol Cool technology works well to aid in cooling the user. The shirt provided good sun protection along with a gusset to ventilate the back, shoulder, and armpit areas. I received the Sol Cool Cryogen plaid shirt for testing in early spring and began by wearing it on hikes in my local Northern California state parks. As a hiking shirt, I liked it a lot. It fit my medium build well and the long shirt tail stayed… Full review

REI Screeline Shirt

rated 4 of 5 stars The butter soft fabric of this lightweight, moisture-wicking shirt makes it a pleasure to wear. Keeping cool is easy, as the Screeline Shirt's material allows air to pass through it quite easily. If you are outside all day, being fully covered by this shirt provides UPF 50 sun protection. I have been testing this Rei Screeline Shirt for a couple of months now and it is performing quite well. This a classic men's button down shirt featuring two breast pockets and a straight hem. The shirt is cut… Full review

Craghoppers NosiLife Insect Shield Pro Long Sleeved Shirt

rated 2 of 5 stars Synthetic stretch insect-repellent shirt. Well featured, but too tight a fit. I bought this shirt because I wanted a fast-drying all-synthetic shirt for future hiking trips. This one fitted the bill nicely. It's from a brand that is (or was) a favourite of mine, and I found it at a very good price. The shirt is billed as a stretch shirt with an "active" fit and is made of a polyester/elastane mix. I thought the fit would not perhaps be as generous as the standard Craghoppers Kiwi shirt, of which… Full review

Craghoppers Kiwi Long-Sleeved Shirt

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Practical and comfortable polycotton hiking shirt. Solar collar extension This shirt by British brand Craghoppers is designed as a practical garment. It has a solar collar extension which folds under the collar but can be raised to protect the back of your neck from the sun. It has button-up tabs to hold the sleeves in place when they are rolled up. It has a pair of drying loops and it comes with two spare buttons sewn to the label.  Drying loop and spare buttons near the shirt hem (shirt is hanging… Full review

Columbia Featherweight Hike Long Sleeve Shirt

rated 4 of 5 stars The Featherweight Hike Long Sleeve Shirt is a great warm weather performer, providing extra sun protection and bug protection for your arms while remaining cool and dry. With minimal weight and bulk, the thru-hiker can transition from trail to town in style! Construction This Featherweight Hike Long Sleeve Shirt is constructed of 100% antimicrobial treated nylon. It has a UPF rating of 25. The super thin fabric allows this shirt to compact very tightly into a ball the size of a small grapefruit. … Full review

Arc'teryx Elaho Shirt LS

rated 4.5 of 5 stars The Arc'teryx Elaho long-sleeve shirt is great for hiking on those hot and sticky summer days. Sleeves can be worn long or secured up to cool off even more. The stretchable fabric is surprisingly durable for being so lightweight. If you want one shirt for multi-day trips or even thru-hikes, the Elaho offers the durability, weight, and comfort for you. About the Reviewer I am 5'9", 160 lbs, average build. I have a 40" chest and 31" sleeve length measured as described on the Arc'teryx size chart… Full review
