User Review: Kelty Katahdin 25

Rating: rated 1 of 5 stars
Design: mummy
Fill: hollofil II
Temperature Rating: 25 F
Weight: 5?
Price Paid: $60

Bought two of these - for myself and son - on sale from Sporting Goods store. Used for 3 winter nights - temps from 26-35 F. My first Kelty product.

First, this is not a Kelty, but an import with the Kelty tag, apparently designed for the dept-store shelves. Second, it is not warm -- anywhere near 25 degrees. At 35, bag gets cool, and below 30 it is cold, even with thermals, tent fly, wool socks, and pad. I got a refund for the purchase. Buying this bag was a mistake, and makes me wonder about the other Kelty products.

Note: When I called Kelty to talk, they also admitted the V-2 tent was a cheap Vortex clone, and was inferior.... at least I don't own one of those.
